Continuing with the same format of setting the filter to focus on a particular concept, I decided to take things to the next street, examining turn check raises. I covered a few more hands than usual and in slightly less depth, as many patterns were somewhat repetitive--an key point to pick up on for this concept!

In this video I look through a series of hands where everything goes wrong. In one particularly interesting hand a reg goes into call down mode against me despite a 5 bet, flop bet, and a shove. Plenty of interesting spots to take a look at in this video!

A disciplined poker player cannot afford the risk of high variance at higher-than-normal stake levels without enough volume to equalize it. This month, I had really low volume at $5/10, so I decided to short-stack in order to reduce my variance and not risk blowing my entire month of grinding in just a few bad match-ups. In this hand re-player vid, I demonstrate the adjustments I made in order to play at a high level on a shorter than normal stack size.

More 4-table $100nl at WPN, this time replayed back with added commentary. This video certainly shows the benefit of a little table selection, with 3 out of the 4 tables having some really good spots, with one maniac. Because this is a delayed commentary video, I spend more time than usual breaking down the hands and discussing alternate lines. There are a couple smallish pots that I think show some important concepts and I discuss why its so important to be consistently playing these pots well if you want to make long-term money at poker.

In this video I cover how a beginning player should tackle playing the bubble. Although a mechanical bubble strategy is impossible, here I present the most clear and systematized approach to the bubble that I feel is possible. I cover all of the key concepts to adjusting to the stack based dynamic and present a method to review your hands when learning to implement this method. Finally I end with some hand history review verifying that the method works and also showing in real time how to make notes to plug the leaks based on the results. If you are struggling with the bubble, you don't need a 1-on-1 coach, you just need this video!
