Playing a Blitz: In this episode, we’ll look at a particular type of game plan called a “blitz”. Blitzes occur when one side splits their back men early in the game and the other side launches a quick attack, hitting the opposing checkers and sending them to the bar. When blitzes work, you trap both of your opponent’s back men on the bar and close your board, resulting in a quick gammon. I’ll show you how to conduct a blitz properly and, with a little luck, squelch all resistance.
