Poker Coach – adam Sherman

I got into poker after playing Magic The Gathering competitively. I've always been a very competitive person and at the age of 15, I noticed top magic players appearing on TV poker tournaments. It was then I decided to make the switch to poker. I played poker part-time for 5 years alternating between Limit Hold'em and multi-table tournaments (MTTs). I won a few small scores in some $20 and $10 rebuy tournaments playing part time, but didn't make enough to consider myself a professional. When I played cash, I was making about $20 an hour at $3/$6 limit. After college that changed.

I graduated in 2009 from Claremont Mckenna College with a degree in economics. I particularly enjoyed studying game theory and finance at college and saw myself eventually working in the finance field until poker took off. I made the switch to full time professional poker player focusing on MTTs after haivng about six months of success online. In early 2010 my career took off on Pokerstars. I won the Wednesday Quarter Million, the Sunday $500, the Nightly Hundred Grand, and I placed 1st in the $3,150 SCOOP 4-max event and chopped the $2,100 cubed SCOOP event.

I am very lucky to be able to compete in a game that I enjoy so much for a living. When I'm not at the tables I am generally hanging out with friends, playing sports, or trying to learn something new. I hope I can help subscribers at DragTheBar understand more about the math and the strategy behind high stakes tournament poker.

I am currently accepting private students at a rate of $300/hr. Please contact me via pm in the forum if you are interested in setting something up.
