Default AK suited in cutoff 3 bet by the button

    I was in the sunday 250 K

still a long way from the money like 18k players left

I had been fairly tight and had about $3500 chips after losing a hand with 66

so it comes around to me on cutoff and I have AKs

    3 players left and I raise 3 x to about $600

the button 3 bets me to $1000

    everyone folds
    What should I do

    button has me just covered
and was just moved to the table
so no stats at all on him

So what should I do ?

fold and have about $3k or go for it ?

With 15 BB left and nearly 20% of my stack in preflop, I am insta jamming here.

    A few things:

    1) Go all in. You should just about never be looking to fold AK preflop for under 20BBs.
    2) There are definitely some times when I will plan on calling a shove or big raise, but fold to a small raise. This is not one of them (see #1).
    3) There's no real need to open 3x here. I typically am either jamming or minraising. By minraising, we can fold more cheaply if we decide to, and we have more maneuverability post flop for when we do get flatted.

    I couldn't remember why i was asking

So i went looking at last sundays tourneys

    and yes there it was

utg+1 calls for 1000 leaving 8900 in his stack

    1 folds
then i shove 8K with my AKsuited

everyone folds the blinds both fold

    and utg+t calls

    and shows 9T off

    and of course he wins

well why wouldnt he , a perfectly good call made with sound reasoning etc , NOT

so I was victim to this same scenario twice on Sunday

    pokerstove says it 65/35

So I guess my next question is

Does anyone like the 9T off call for nearly all of his chips

the pot before his call had

    11275
he had 8900 left and had to call 8075

There's lots of luck in tournament poker. Sometimes it hurts when you get donked by a lag-tard.
