The Last Cigar, Day 13, 8/27/10 – Local Finals, QTIP
Oh man, pretty inconsequential day, I'm a day late with the blog so I'll be putting a couple in today
-food ok
-smokie ok
-did some dumbell workout, nothing huge though
Had to totally wipe out my hard drive and do a totally new install, I could have used system recovery but I said forget it, I'll just give my laptop a clean start, I had a nice virus doing some damage.
Spent most of day going out with wife spending time together....and took my dog for a car ride.
ummm...oh yeah, poker.
I play in this little club with about 10-15 guys coming out every game for a sng 3 times a week for a 20 dollar buy in. Anyhow we take extra for a final game and the season usually lasts 3 months. So i played the final and busted out first last night with KQ. lol, I have one the last 3 finals back to back to back and have 3 trophies, the final game usually consists of around 20-30 players because stragglers show up. As soon as I get my blackberry software on here and learn how to transfer a digital photo, I'll show the trophies.
I watched some of QTips full ring 50nl video yesterday and I came to a realization as to why I'm not doing so great at poker, and maybe why a lot of guys don't do as well as they like. If I watch closely and really listen to what he's saying, I mean "listen" I can see many things he is incorporating into his decisions that I don't always do. A close eye on gameflow, playing his hand according to the player type, taking notes on lines they take, and then I was shocked at how well he played his hands and what thought went into them. Now I know most everyone does the above forementioned, but do we do it most of the time and put our A game on? But anyhow I was pleasantly surprised at how he played. I haven't watched too many of his videos. One hand was great where he opted not to play a suited connecter in position due to his relative position post. good stuff.
-aight, gotta blog again later.
